Meet my newest beauty addition – The Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. It’s a tinted cream that works great as a primer or on its own if you want a lighter coverage. I like the product but it takes a lot of it to get good coverage, especially for me as I at the moment am struggling with my skin. I have way more breakouts than I usually do and this cream does not cover it all. Other than that, it’s easy to use, leaves a natural finish, and has a great smell. My color is Vanilla and I think it suits my skin fine since it is a yellow tone.
How I store my makeup at the moment / Hur jag förvarar mitt smink för tillfället
For some time now I’ve been using the MAC Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation in NW20. The formula is light and runny. I like how easily it blends into the skin and the silky finish it leaves. Usually I use a buffing brush when applying the foundation, but I’ve also used a damp beauty blender with good results. One really impressive thing about this product is the pipette, it makes everything less messy and contributes to a super quick application to the face.
If you have really oily skin I suggest using a powder to set the foundation. I have dry-normal-combination skin and I use powder only in my t-zone. Sometimes if my skin is more dry than usual I don’t set it with powder but with Urban Decay’s All Nighter Spray.
My overall impression of this product is positive, and I like it a lot! Especially on good skin days when I don’t have much redness or spots to cover up.
This blog post can seem a bit confusing since I’m going to “recommend” a product that I really don’t like that much. The thing is, when I buy something I expect it to be a certain way. For example, this dry shampoo by Big Sexy Hair, it says on the packaging that it is a “volumizing dry shampoo.” The first word “volumizing” is spot on because you’ll get great volume with this product. If you’re only looking for a volumizing product, then this one’s for you. However, the other two words on the packaging “dry shampoo” – totally misleading.
In my book, a dry shampoo is supposed to reduce greasy hair in-between washes and overall make the hair fresher. I can agree to a certain extent that it reduces greasy hair, but at the same time, it gives the hair a really weird texture. You know when you have sprayed your hair with loads of hair spray and then slept in it and the day after you try to brush it out and somewhat succeed? Yeah, that’s the texture you’ll get with this product.
So, can you understand my conflict with this product? I love that it gives great volume, but I hate to touch my hair with the product in it. I’m also not a huge fan of the smell… Now the big question is wether or not I will repurchase this again. The answer is: no. There are far better products out there for a cheaper price that will give a way better result than this one.
Here’s how my hair looked with the dry shampoo freshly sprayed in it.
Looking at these pictures I realize how summery they are and how exciting it will be to prep for fall with a darker dye.
Have you tried Big Sexy Hair’s Volumizing Dry Shampoo? I’m excited to know what your thoughts of it were/are? :-) x
Strawberry Ice Cream by Barry M is one of my favorite light pink nail polishes. Unfortunately it is discontinued so when I run out of this I have to search for a new favorite one, buhu! It’s a pity since I really like the texture of Barry M‘s polishes, and they are very pigmented as well. Sometimes I can get by with only one coat!

It’s crazy to think that I actually am getting married next Saturday. Most major wedding related things are done apart from deciding how my makeup will be. I know about 80% of what products to use and how I want my makeup to appear, but I’m still a bit unsure of the eyeshadow look. In these pictures I tried out a soft smokey look, and even though it turned out really nice, I still felt like it wasn’t quite right. Tomorrow I will do a definite trial and I’m thinking that I want to deepen the brown eyeshadow in my outer v, and try a different blush. I will probably also change the lip color to a more nude-pink color and see if that contributes to a more romantic look.
