We have found out that we’ll be moving to our new house at the end of September – how exciting! I can’t wait until I get to decorate it and I really have to contain myself not to buy a bunch of things right now. The Swedish site have a lot of pretty things, and here are my picks at the moment.

Bedroom Thoughts

Hi everyone!
Currently I’m browsing for bedroom inspiration to our new house. I know we still have at least 6 months left until getting close to moving, but a girl can dream and prepare in time, right? We have pretty much decided to get a continental bed with a quilted headboard. Preferably I want it in beige, but I could settle with a light grey as well. The pictures above (from Pinterest) are two very good inspiration pictures to how I would want it to look. Oh, I can’t wait until we move!

Insta Home

Happy Saturday! Today has been a great day even though I woke up with a sore throat. It really is bad timing to get sick this early into the school semester considering that we have a huge problem getting substitute teachers for our classes. Oh well, hope I feel better tomorrow :-)

Anyway, me and my husband got a lot of things done today, like cleaning our apartment and browsing stores in the city. I bought the cutest top and two pairs of tights. Now we’re relaxing in our sofa and soon it’s time to watch a movie. I want to see “Daddy’s Home,” or some other comedy.

Meanwhile, here are some pictures I took with my phone that I recently published on Instagram. I love interior and pretty details in the home. I haven’t told you, but we bought a house! It will be a new construction house and the estimated building start is later this fall. We don’t have an exact date when everything will be done and we can move in but they have said somewhere between April-July 2017 – I can’t waaaaait!

I love a clean and bright kitchen with mixed interior.

Re-organizing My Livingroom

So, lately I’ve been really neglecting my living room area. I mean, I’ve kept it clean and all, but the bookshelves-decor-styling has not been great to be honest. In fact, it has not been thought-out properly which you clearly can see from the before-pictures. Anyway, I thought I give it a go to improve the situation a bit and I’m overall pleased with the outcome!

As you can see the books in the right lower shelf are taking up too much space, they need to be spread out to 3 or 4 shelves. That will improve the dynamic and give a softer and more organized impression. There are too many candle holders in one place and the frames don’t really make sense in that spot.

My china is also not neatly organized, so that will have to improve too.

Here are the “after-pictures” :-) I put two of the candle holders on the coffee table, together with a bubble bowl vase where I keep my beautiful roses (and one peony). Can you believe that they are actually fake? I mean, you can probably tell, but they are well made and don’t have that plastic feeling that some fake flowers do.

As for the shelves, I spread out the books, the candle holders, and the frames. Now I think it looks more organized and thought-out. A good tip is to arrange the items both vertically and horizontally. That way the shelves look more stuffed, but in a good way.

I also re-organized my ladder shelf. So in the bottom I have some board games and my Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. Then I have the “Paris-box” where I keep old birthday cards, wedding cards, etc. and as well as  a pink champagne (or is it a rosé wine?) that I got from my work colleagues when I got married. I also have some candle holders, a frame, a pink candy bowl, and a book called “The Beauty Bible,” but in Swedish.

I also have our wedding cake topper in the shape of  a plexiglass heart. It has our names on it and the date we got married ❤︎ It is places in the ladder shelf.

This is now how the “china shelves” look like. There’s our wedding guest book, our wedding thank you card, love letters, my vase where I kept my bouquet during the wedding reception, and, our champagne glasses from which we drank our first drink as married :-)

Here’s a close up of our thank you card. The inside holds one more picture of us and a thank you text, and the backside of the card has a picture of us walking away. I can make a separate post of the card if you are interested to see.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post. I now have a nice living room again and you got to see a glimpse of the before and the after. Let me know what you think, and if you have some tips on what I could have done differently. It’s hard to organize any kind of space in a way where it both is easy to clean and dust but still looks great. Yeah, I’m happy for now :-) xx

Wardrobe Organization ✿

I thought I’d show you how I managed to bring some order into my wardrobe (that I share with my boyfriend). We did the best we could out of the space we have, but my oh my how I long for something bigger :-) So the picture below shows how it looked like BEFORE I organized it. Note how my boyfriend’s clothes look neat and extremely well folded? Yeah..

Like I mentioned, the picture above and below show how it looked before my organization. I didn’t really have a structure or anything going on, and a lot of clothing items that I have I couldn’t see properly and therefore didn’t use.

The folding of my tops wasn’t exactly the greatest because they got messed up so quickly so I have to change that to the better. Since I did my spring tossing/cleaning of my wardrobe when I put away my winter/fall clothes, I didn’t get rid of many items this time.

The first thing I did was to use more dividers and what is better than boxes and baskets? I used what I had at home and old Glossyboxes are great to use for skinny belts. The white baskets are from IKEA and in one I put beachwear and regular vest tops. I feel like I can fold them into rolls without them getting all wrinkly. In the other white basket I put all my nicer PJ’s and night gowns because those too are easy to roll due to the silky material.

So here’s the AFTER shot. I divided all sweaters and jumpers to be in one huge pile and folded them quite widely so more could fit into one pile. I put all light tops in one pile and all dark/pattern tops in another. In one separate pile next to the basket with the bow I put all tops that are sleeveless. On the shelf above the hanging rows (you can’t unfortunately see it in the after pictures) I have all my jeans folded and in a black basket next to the jeans I have all my shorts.

In the hanging section I have all dresses and skirts next to each other, and in the same row I have all shorter blazers and a few short (but warmer) tops. In the row above I have color coordinated all blouses and shirts and I also have a few longer blazers hanging. On the bottom of the wardrobe I had hot rollers and all kind of things that weren’t supposed to be there, so I found them another place and it looks much neater down there.

Behind a few of the clothing piles I have other bins where I keep my bikinis and old clothes I use when I dye my hair etc.

That was my little organization of my shared wardrobe. I hope you find it interesting and maybe even helpful :-) Do let me know if you have any questions and if you would like to see more of these posts.
